Simons catback sports exhaust for VW Golf 6 GTI 2.0 TSI 211 hp, supplied with racepipe instead of centre silencer/front silencer. This solution is for those who want the same base system as Simons 040DHG1R, but with a higher sound level and freer flow through the exhaust system.
The system is made from stainless steel and is fitted from the catalytic converter and backwards. The pipework has a 76 millimetre pipe diameter, which splits into 2 x 63.5 millimetres, and the rear section is finished with duplex 100 millimetre + 100 millimetre tailpipes. The combination of larger pipe diameter and racepipe gives lower back pressure than the version with silencer, which suits turbo engines well, where a more efficient exhaust flow can give better response and a more direct sound character.
The racepipe replaces Simons silencer 040-35R. This means the system gets a more direct, deeper and more pronounced sound compared to the E-marked version with centre silencer. It is a popular solution for project cars, track use and customers who want more sound from their Golf 6 GTI.
As the centre silencer/front silencer is replaced with a racepipe, the EC type approval is not valid with this setup. The product is therefore primarily intended for motorsport, track use, show cars or other projects where EC type approval is not required.

This version is supplied with racepipe instead of silencer 040-35R. The system therefore does not correspond to the E-marked Simons 040DHG1R configuration.
